Can AI help you become more human? Today, we are taking another look at the world of artificial intelligence (AI), a topic that I have touched upon in previous discussions like “The Human Test” and “Are You a High Functioning Human?” which I highly recommend you check out for a deeper understanding. I’ll pop the links below in the description. Welcome to the latest episode of the High Functioning Human podcast, where you get to connect with yourself as a high-functioning human. As a high-functioning human, tapping into your intuition is crucial for driving innovation and productivity.
In our recent chat, “Colouring Outside The Lines,” we discussed the importance of nurturing creativity as adults, and I believe AI plays a pivotal role here by offering the potential to free yourself from mundane tasks, allowing you to reclaim your energy and time. I came across a fantastic comparison the other day about AI that really resonated with me and also made me laugh, which is obviously a great combination. In the programming world, there is something called Rubber Duck Debugging, which refers to developers explaining their code out loud, literally line by line, to a rubber duck to help solve the problem. The simple act of verbalising the problem, even to a rubber duck, often leads to a solution because sometimes it’s just about having a sounding board there. As you do that, your brain will spot the errors or solve the problems all by itself.
You can think of AI tools as your personal army of digital rubber ducks—sounding boards that can help you clarify your thoughts and enhance your problem-solving skills. These tools can streamline complex processes, analyse vast amounts of data, and ultimately give you back those valuable resources: your time and your energy. AI can help you become more human because it lets the logical be dealt with by a machine. Where you can excel is by shifting the logical outside and using your mental capacity to engage with your feelings instead. There is no need to get stuck in the process of menial thoughts. Start by identifying the repetitive or data-intensive tasks in your day-to-day work and explore AI tools that can help automate those tasks. Use the time you save to tackle projects that require your unique human touch. The goal is to use AI to enhance your efficiency and enable you to become more involved in the meaningful work that impacts your career and personal growth.
For me, AI is like having an extra set of hands that handles the groundwork so that I can focus on my creative pursuits, whether I am planning content or organising launches. AI helps to clear the underbrush, allowing me to navigate the path with clear vision and a greater sense of purpose. Despite the potential for many people dealing with AI in the workplace, these new advancements bring with them a pervasive fear of becoming obsolete, sometimes referred to as FOBO. A recent Forbes article highlighted that a staggering 75% of employees are concerned about AI replacing their jobs, with two-thirds anxious about AI replacing their own roles. This anxiety is often linked to generalised workplace stress and potential burnout. You can get stuck in the mind rather than being engaged with your body. When you’re connected to your body and to your intuition, it becomes a lot easier to gain perspective around where you belong.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the rapid integration of AI or worried about its impact on your job, I encourage you to explore my [WRK] program, a mini-retreat designed to help you reconnect with your inner strengths over a weekend. Connecting with those inner strengths will support you in making wise choices when it comes to picking which AI tools you’re interested in using. The combination of fascia release, meditation, detox, and mindset practices in [WRK] will give you more energy and a deeper connection to every aspect of yourself. When you allow yourself to stay in that sense of spaciousness that is your body, you can make better and wiser choices. Upon reflection, you might see the changing role of AI as an opportunity to truly explore your passions instead of doing the menial tasks that have perhaps allowed you to live in a comfort zone. By giving yourself this space to connect with your authentic self and arming yourself with your AI rubber ducks, you will be unstoppable in creating a life that you truly desire.
Remember, trust your intuition and your instincts. The world needs your voice and the magic that it brings to us all.
