All souls day is today
A time to pray for all the departed souls we have known…..I’d like to share with you why this day especially reminds me to twinkle* which is remembering to nurture my soul….its ALL SOULS DAY after all.
Lets think of other souls i’ve known who are now departed…..
AZREIL COHEN
Life is such a fascinating experience. Last night I was thinking about a friend a great friend who although I only spent no more than 10 hours talking to him, impacted my life in one of the most profound ways so far. His name was Azriel Cohen. His heart was huge, his mind was expansive and his insight and care was nurturing of vibrancy and joy. He was inspiring. We intended to do some work together as there was a meeting of minds and hearts in what and how we wished to share our understanding of the body and instincts.
That I could experience so much from a man I knew so little of and from such a short interaction, reminds me again how precious life is, how every opportunity needs to be seized, as within 1 week of meeting him, he very unexpectedly passed away.
And sure there were tears, grief and a deep sadness…….. but mostly I just felt so deeply grateful to have met him. So deeply grateful for the moments we shared & nourished our souls. Our interaction focused me, offering me many gifts that I know I will now have for life.
What amazed me further was as I then read an article about him and his life who he had been to others, the other lives he’d touched.
SEBASTIAO CARREIRA
Another man who I honour and am grateful for. Who taught me boundaries. Taught me to be wild and daring. Taught me to search for an answer. Inspired passion and questioned everything. There is no article for me to share with you about him other than the testimonial from me saying Thank you to this crazy, passionate being whose goal in life was celebration, celebration, celebration. Thank you Sebastiao for this great lesson.
We never know how our actions ripple out to others….just be true to who you are…that is the stuff of magic

So todays twinkle* is a question to you..who do you know who has passed away and that you would like to honour ? what things did they do that nourished your soul? That brought you to life? What do you have in your life now to be grateful for? That you can treasure and smile about when things seem stuck or hopeless? What memory can bring you hope, when you feel alone? Comment below.
I’d love to hear from you. I’d love to hear whose inspired you and why. My experiences with Azriel Cohen and Sebatiao Carriera are my sharing to you today
Knowing these men reminds me to stay forever grateful for all the amazing people in my life. Thank you
Thank you
Thank you
To you all -your words, our interactions, bring me so much laughter and joy and I feel like the luckiest person alive
Much love and keep twinkling*

dearest Savannah, what a beautiful article, and an eye opener, thank you.. When my mum was expecting me, one of her sisters has died in a car crash, and i never got to meet her… my mum gone through the loss of her sister and the birth of her first child – me.. there was a lot of tears.. and no one talked about it for many many years.. i never dared to ask what happen.. but in some ways i felt close to her, the person that i have never met.. she was beautiful, strong, incredibly loving and very bright.. when i was christened at thirteen, i got to choose my christian name, and i chose hers… i often roll my hair on my finger when i think and my grandma says the she used to do the same… i never met her, but i miss her so much..
reading your article, brought so much warmth to my heart, and reminded me of all that i am grateful for as well… i will never think of all souls day in the same way again…
Wow – what a touching and beautiful story Indre. Thank you so much for your heartfelt and honest sharing – deeply inspiring. Your sharing brought a glow to my heart also – thank you
Hi Savannah,
I also knew Azriel,
He was definitely a great man, with a lot of love and a lot of wisdom. A real meeting of the minds and such a loving man..
Also he reminded me how to think in some ways, because his way of thinking excited me, my mind, my interest… and this reminded me of parts of me that I have not engaged for some time…. So I highly valued every discussion we had together…
I guess he was a philosopher in some instances and Azriel reminded me to engage in oh so many parts of myself that have been placed on the side.
He played, like a kid in some ways, he smiled all the time, he poised rhetorical questions, just to get you to think… he painted, played guitar, wrote, lectured, tried everything that inspired him, he was definitely a muli-passionate man…
This alone is something which inspires me, and reminds me to keep in touch with my own inspirations…
So I would like to thank Azriel and you too Savannah for making this good point and sharing this post
I enjoy your posts – keep them coming…
I will remember to post more comments as the reading of these are also inspiring like the one from Indre above!
All the best to you all
xx
